Flacco vs cards

By: Corey Johns

In all six of the Ravens losses this season they have had the ball with less than two minutes to go and a chance to tie or win the game. They just have not been able to close things out.

Joe Flacco made a horrible pass to end the game against the Arizona Cardinals. After getting the ball back, trailing by one eight points, the Ravens got the ball back and a tremendous catch by Crockett Gilmore put them in the redzone. But on the next play Flacco dropped back and three into double-coverage off his back foot and it was easily intercepted, allowing the Cardinals to hold onto the 26-18 win.

The Ravens took a first-half lead after Justin Tucker knocked in a field goal and Justin Forsett matched a Chris Johnson touchdown with one of his own to give the Ravens a 10-7 lead. But with just a minute before halftime Michael Floyd caught touchdown pass and the Cardinals went into halftime with a 14-10 lead.

In the second half, the Ravens offense showed it’s problems. Marlon Brown, Kamar Aiken and Chris Givens were nowhere to be found and because the passing game struggled so much the Cardinals were able to key in on the run and successfully stopped that.

It was not until after a blocked punt by Asa Jackson late in the game finally led to another score for the Ravens. They took advantage of a short field and Kyle Juszczyk caught the touchdown pass. But by that point the Ravens dug a big hole. The score and successful two-point conversation still left the Ravens down by eight points and they could not make it up. They instead found a way to lose the game, which has been the story of the season.
